Learn To Hunt: Pheasants Project

Learn to Hunt: Pheasants, Saturday, September 23rd, 2017 from 8am to 4:30pm

The Rod and Gun Club has partnered up with the Yellow River Trap Club to host a Learn To Hunt: Pheasant event. This is an annual event that occurs in the fall. The project is also partnered up with Pheasant Forever, North American Versatile Hunting Dogs Association (NAVHDA), and the Bloomer Rod and Gun club.

The purpose of the event is to teach novice hunters how to hunt pheasants. No shotgun skill is required to participate, the only requirement is that the hunter must not have purchased a pheasant hunting license in the past. There is no charge for the novice hunter and a shotgun is not required as one can be provided to them for the day.

This year we will run the Learn To Hunt event the day after "Outdoors" Day at the Yellow River Trap Club. You are encouraged to attend the "Outdoors" Day on Friday September 22, 2017 from 4:30pm to 8:00pm as there will be an opportunity to learn and practice trap shooting. This will be not be covered in the Saturday Learn To Hunt program.

To get on the list of Novice hunters download the Sign Up Form and mail it in to the address listed on the form by September 16, 2017. The event is open to the first 30 applicants.

We are looking for volunteers to help work the event, we can find something for a willing person to help with, no matter their experience. Email Learn To Huntfor more information.
